The Importance of Water
All life and landscapes are formed by and sustained by water. I am inspired to give the water an important role in telling its story. When possible, I use unfiltered water, sourced from the location that inspired a painting. The water adds an invisible fingerprint of its history to the painting. When dry, the dissolved minerals, sediment, pollutants and living micro organisms will create an invisible place and time specific ‘stamp’ on the paper. These paintings are one of a kind and available as commissions.
